Strawberry and Burrata on Toast with Hot Honey

Strawberry & Burrata Toast 🍓

Sweet British strawberries meet creamy burrata on toasted sourdough with hot honey and cracked black pepper. A perfect quick lunch or impressive brunch plate.

Ingredients

  • 2 large slices sourdough bread
  • 1 ball burrata
  • 150g British strawberries, sliced
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp hot honey (or regular honey with chilli flakes)
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Sea salt
  • Freshly cracked black pepper

Optional:

  • Balsamic glaze
  • Toasted pistachios


Method

  1. Toast the sourdough until golden and crisp.
  2. Tear the burrata and spread generously over the warm toast.
  3. Top with sliced strawberries.
  4. Drizzle with olive oil and hot honey.
  5. Finish with basil leaves, sea salt and plenty of cracked black pepper.
  6. Add balsamic glaze or toasted pistachios if using.

Serve immediately while the toast is still warm and crisp.


Tips

  • Try grilled peaches or cherries later in the season.
  • Use whipped ricotta if burrata isn’t available.
  • Excellent paired with a peppery rocket salad.
