Departing from their usual Burgundy fixture in search for better value, this excellent Pinot Noir is fresh and devilishly moreish.
 
From Languedoc plots of 35% clay/limestone, 65% silty clay, with noticeable salts at higher altitudes in area, Guyot trained. Non-certified organic practices. Fully destemmed, crushed, cold fermentation, punching down for extraction. Malolactic fermentation with oak staves and matured in concrete tanks with oak staves for 6 months before bottling.

Opening its doors in Clerkenwell in 1994, St John restaurant was a pioneer in nose-to-tail dining, serving up gutsy but sophisticated British cooking with a Michelin star but defiantly casual style.
They now have a bunch of restaurants, bakeries and a wine dealership under the St John name.
